User Experience UX Writer

We are seeking an experienced and creative User Experience (UX) Writer to join our client’s product team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX-focused writing, content design, and strategy, with the ability to shape and enhance user interfaces through clear, intuitive, and engaging content. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, researchers, and other key stakeholders to create content that supports users throughout their journey, ensuring a seamless, cohesive product experience. Your expertise in content strategy and user-centered writing will play a key role in the success of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create UI Text: Utilise your writing and content design skills to develop user interface (UI) text that guides users through navigation, on-boarding processes, promotional content, error messages, instructional materials, and other user interactions.

  • Content Strategy: Define and drive the outlook for product language and content across a specific product or subject-matter domain. Ensure consistency and coherence in product narratives, and create content that aligns with the overall user experience.

  • Guidelines and Best Practices: Document your strategies through comprehensive guidelines, establishing best practices and principles for content strategy to ensure high-quality, consistent user experiences across the product.

  • Project Management: Manage UX writing projects from initial needs assessment through to implementation. Identify opportunities for content improvements, set priorities, allocate resources, and manage multiple stakeholders to meet project goals and timelines.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, researchers, legal, marketing, product managers, and engineers, to align content with design and product goals. Provide feedback and direction to ensure content supports the overall user experience vision.

  • Stakeholder Management: Influence and adapt to feedback from diverse stakeholders, ensuring that content changes align with user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives.

  • Leadership and Education: Provide leadership and guidance on the role of UX writing and content strategy throughout the product development process. Educate and advocate for UX writing best practices within the organisation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communication, Literature, Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in UX writing, content design, editorial, marketing, or related roles
  • Proven experience leading content strategy projects, with a demonstrated ability to create effective, user-focused content in a multidisciplinary setting
  • A portfolio showcasing UX-focused writing samples, style guidelines, and content strategy examples
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and disciplines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt content based on stakeholder feedback
  • Strong understanding of UX principles and how content contributes to the overall user experience
