As a Patient Administrative Specialist, you will be an integral part of the clinic’s daily operations. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for patients, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth communication between patients and providers. Your role is crucial for maintaining efficient patient flow and contributing to a positive overall experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Greet and welcome patients, assisting with appointment inquiries, payments, and scheduling needs.
  • Answer multi-line phones, screen and route calls, take messages, and ensure necessary verifications and authorizations are completed.
  • Communicate with providers regarding scheduling preferences and urgent patient needs.
  • Provide support to doctors and patients using available resources and tools.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including maintaining databases and processing forms.
  • Effectively utilize the telephone system and electronic medical records systems.
  • Meet and exceed service standards.
  • Respond to non-clinical patient messages and CRM inquiries, escalating when necessary.
  • Manage and distribute faxes, mail, and clinic documentation.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software used in a clinical setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Windows-based office software and operating systems
  • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • EPIC knowledge

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $23.00 to $27.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
