We are looking for a Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support the Accountants Service Delivery Management team in the UK office. This team’s primary focus is to serve our accounting partners, enabling them to deliver success in their practices. As a Payroll & Accounting Specialist, your role will be to leverage your expertise in payroll and accounting to provide our accountant partners with specialized support and guidance.

This position is ideal for a motivated individual passionate about assisting accountants in delivering payroll and accounting services and sharing their knowledge with cross-functional teams, including Sales.

This is a hybrid, 18-month contract, offering £221.52 per day (PAYE) – 37.5 hrs/week.

Responsibilities

  • Partner Support: Assist sales partners by providing strategic guidance on deployment, including effective communication with customers and various internal stakeholders.
  • Payroll Expertise: Serve as a primary point of contact for resolving complex payroll queries with empathy and skill, employing problem-solving strategies, troubleshooting skills, and deep knowledge.
  • Consultative Engagement: Act as a consultant to accounting partners, engaging in consultative conversations to identify and address customer challenges while matching appropriate solutions to their needs.
  • Accounting Support: Support the Service Delivery Management team with accounting insights and expertise to assist in similar client needs.

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge

  • Required:
    • Full membership in a recognised accounting or payroll organisation (e.g., ACCA, ICB, or CIPP).
    • Strong communication skills with an ability to explain complex payroll topics to non-experts.
    • In-depth understanding of payroll and accounting principles.
    • Proficient in technology, including solid knowledge of computer operations and software applications.
    • Familiarity with accountancy firm environments, workflows, and expected challenges.
    • Effective time management skills for handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience working in a payroll department.
    • Background working for an accounting firm.
