This is a dynamic opportunity to join a leading global retail and e-commerce company that is revolutionizing how products reach customers worldwide. As a key contributor, you will leverage advanced data science to significantly impact the transformation of delivery and service operating models, directly enhancing efficiency, optimizing supply chain processes, and elevating the customer experience across diverse markets. Your expertise will drive critical decisions, shape scalable solutions, and contribute to building a truly digitally mature logistics network.

This role places you at the forefront of innovation, working within a cross-functional team dedicated to optimizing and automating crucial delivery and service operations. You will apply cutting-edge data science methodologies to develop and evaluate sophisticated delivery solutions, analyze performance, and identify pivotal opportunities for efficiency gains. Your work will directly support the design and implementation of data-driven models that enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction across a broad geographical and operational landscape.

This is a 6 months fixed term salaried position contracted via Aquent on behalf of our client as a third party. There is the possibility for extension. 

Due to the contracting nature of this role, only candidates with the unrestricted right to work in The Netherlands will be considered. 

Key Responsibilities:

* Apply advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization techniques to enhance operational efficiency and route planning within logistics and supply chain.
* Design, develop, and evaluate data-driven operating models for delivery and service solutions, including comprehensive scenario analysis and simulation.
* Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover insights, identify areas for improvement, and inform strategic decisions for operational optimization.
* Translate intricate data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for a diverse range of stakeholders, including product, operations, and market teams.
* Collaborate actively within an agile, cross-functional environment to develop and iterate on solutions that drive continuous improvement.
* Support the architectural design of scalable, data-driven models that can be adapted to various operational contexts and geographic regions.

Qualifications:
* Min. 5 years of proven experience applying data science principles to optimize logistics, supply chain, or delivery operations, ideally within a retail or e-commerce environment.
* Strong proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization techniques relevant to operational efficiency and route planning.
* Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and expert-level skills in tools such as Python, SQL, optimization solvers (e.g., Gurubi), and cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
* Extensive experience in designing and evaluating data-driven operating models, including proficiency in scenario analysis and simulation.
* Strong business acumen with a proven track record of translating complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across product, operations, and market teams.
* Experience working in agile methodologies and contributing to iterative solution development.

Nice-to-Have:
* Knowledge of geospatial analytics.
* Familiarity with delivery technologies.
