As a Product Designer, you’ll be a vital part of a leading manufacturer of high-quality molded plastic products, impacting diverse sectors like vehicle, fire safety, and environmental protection. This exciting opportunity will see you:

  • Conceptualising and designing innovative new products, influencing the future of multiple industries.
  • Leading early-stage research and gathering insights to fuel the product development process.
  • Creating and refining detailed 3D CAD models, bringing your designs to virtual life using Autodesk Inventor (or similar software).
  • Designing intricate product assemblies, focusing on functionality, manufacturability, and long-term durability.
  • Working closely with internal and external toolmakers, ensuring seamless production of your designs.
  • Overseeing product development projects from initial concept to final tooling and release, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Creating and testing prototypes, from small-scale models to full-size functional units.
  • Ensuring product compliance with industry standards and regulations through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Supporting product launch activities and providing technical expertise to teams across the business.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Degree in Product Design or a related field
  • 5+ years of product design experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Proven expertise in plastic molding processes
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
  • Strong understanding of tooling design and construction
  • Excellent communication, project management, and presentation skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with roto-moulded product development
  • Experience with injection-molded product development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
