As a Strategy and Operations Lead for News Partnerships, you will play a critical role in shaping the way we collaborate with news organisations around the world. You will be responsible for defining and executing strategic initiatives that enhance our relationship with the news industry, optimizing internal processes, and driving operational excellence. This role requires a deep understanding of the digital media landscape, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align with our goals for its relationships with news partners.
- Identify opportunities for growth and innovation within the news ecosystem.
- Work closely with leadership to define and prioritize strategic initiatives.

Partnership Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key news partners.
- Collaborate with partners to identify and implement joint initiatives that drive value for both us and the partners.
- Serve as a key point of contact for escalations and critical issues.

Operational Excellence:
- Optimize internal processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness in managing news partnerships.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of partnership initiatives.
- Lead efforts to improve operational workflows and remove barriers to success.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product, engineering, legal, and policy teams to ensure alignment with broader goals and strategies.
- Act as a liaison between news partners and our internal teams to ensure that partner needs are met.

Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and strategy development.
- Analyze trends in the news industry and their impact on our business.
- Provide regular reporting on partnership performance and strategic initiatives.

Thought Leadership:
- Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in the news industry.
- Represent us at industry events and conferences, sharing insights and thought leadership.
- Contribute to the development of industry best practices and standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in strategy, operations, or partnership management, preferably within the digital media or technology sectors.
- Proven track record of developing and executing strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with news organizations or in the media industry is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
- Experience with data analysis tools and CRM systems.
- Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
