Project Overview:
Our team focuses on building innovative and delightful user experiences that help millions of app users achieve better health and wellbeing by meeting the health guidelines for physical activity, whether that be increasing their levels of Exercise, or reducing periods of sedentary time.

Overall Responsibilities:
In this role you will lead the execution of critical engineering projects and programs impacting our users and developers, partnering with our cross-functional counterparts to plan, execute and deliver across the app. You will need to manage multiple competing priorities and projects simultaneously, whilst also ensuring a focus on key milestones and maintaining a high quality bar. You will also be responsible for identifying, owning, managing and improving various processes across the team and the wider organisation, striving to drive efficiencies and improve quality wherever possible.

Top Responsibilities: 

  • Be a trusted operational leader on the Mobile Apps team, along with your cross-functional partners in Product Management, Engineering, Research, Design, User Experience, Clinical, Regulatory, Partnerships, Customer Support, and Marketing.
  • Working with geographically distributed global teams, managing cross-team and cross-project dependencies, whilst managing multiple interdependent projects of moderate to high complexity and scope, anticipating risks and issues.
  • Drive product development efforts, organising the team to hit roadmap goals, tracking progress, analysing risks, driving and documenting decisions, and communicating status.
  • Identify and solve cross-functional and inter-team challenges, collaborating with several other Engineering and Research teams

Mandatory Skills/Qualifications: (All skills, both technical and soft, required to be successful in the role)

  • Education: Degree to min. Bachelor level – or relevant industry experience (e.g. 5+ years in Program Management, Consulting, etc).
  • Total years experience in what industry, discipline or responsibility: 5+ years experience in Technical Program Management, Technical Consulting or similar domain.
  • Skills or processes candidates must have to be considered for the role: Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones and geographies.
  • Experience with mobile app development and associated engineering practices and processes.
  • Ability to solve ambiguous problems and work independently.
  • Strong communications management, continuous improvement, planning, stakeholder management and technical judgement/working with software engineers.
  • Specific Tools or Applications experience: Google workspace (sheets, docs etc).

Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications: (Skills that would be nice to have but are not essential in the role)

  • Relevant industry certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Experience working in health, consumer electronics and/or wearables technologies, as well as experience working in privacy, compliance and/or similar domains.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software development cycles and processes
