We work in partnership with a multinational tech company to recruit a talented Data Scientist for 6 months contract, offering £78.000 per annum, pro rata (PAYE).
What you’ll do:
-Collaborating with researchers and engineers to identify the research questions and hypotheses to answer, formulate research methodologies, develop tractable analysis plans, evaluation metrics, and statistical models
-Owning the compilation, extraction, restructuring and quality control of datasets including human quant data and ML outputs
-Designing and evaluating models to mathematically express and solve defined problems with limited domain precedent
-Drawing inferences and quantifying uncertainty from data analysis results, and communicating those results to collaborators and external audiences by contributing to academic publication
Main Skills:
-Research skills
-Experience designing and executing research would be a major advantage
-Interest in AI & human-computer-interaction
-Knowledge of, and interest in, machine learning research would be very helpful for this role in order to understand the data and select the best methods for the task based on the existing literature and similar projects. -Creativity – This project is at a fairly novel intersection of disciplines, where multiple approaches to data analysis might render useful results but there is not one clear path forward. A creative approach to the problem and a willingness to engage deeply with the foundational research questions we are trying to answer is essential.
-Academic publishing experience- Some experience with academic publishing would be helpful in informing the presentation of methods, analyses and interpretations for external audiences.
